Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov heard a report on the implementation of instructions given to ensure control over the situation in the domestic petroleum products market and prevent illegal outflow of petroleum products from Kazakhstan.

Minister of Energy Yerlan Akkenzhanov reported on the stable situation in the petroleum products market. It was noted that Kazakhstani oil refineries are operating in a planned mode. The total stocks of gasoline, diesel fuel, and aviation fuel in Kazakhstan ensure the needs of the domestic market. The Ministry of Energy keeps the situation with the production and supply of petroleum products under control.

According to Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov, since the beginning of the year, 593 attempts to export petroleum products with a total volume of over 40 thousand liters have been prevented at automobile checkpoints. Overall, within the framework of the Roadmap to prevent illegal export of petroleum products, enhanced control is being carried out in border zones. The staff of employees has been increased for the prompt conduct of in-depth inspection measures.

Deputy Minister of Finance Yerzhan Birzhanov reported on the work of mobile groups. Patrolling is carried out in round-the-clock mode; within the framework of the risk management system, tank trucks and fuel tankers are checked on border highways. Over the past two days, 61 attempts to export petroleum products of more than 3 tons in additional tanks and canisters have been prevented at checkpoints. In addition, 18 specialized vehicles intended for the transportation of petroleum products were checked, and for one of them with 34 tons of petroleum products, sampling and specimens were taken for examination. At the moment, state revenue authorities are analyzing the activities of 62 gas stations and 22 mini-refineries where an anomalous increase in the volume of services has been recorded. Relevant checks will be carried out on these entities.

Reports were also delivered by Deputy Chairman of the National Security Committee – Director of the Border Service Yerlan Aldazhumanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition Rustam Akhmetov, and Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Financial Monitoring Kairat Bizhanov.

Following the meeting, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov emphasized that ensuring the stability of the domestic petroleum products market is a priority task of the Government. State agencies have been instructed to keep the situation under daily control.
