
National Atomic Company Kazatomprom, as part of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Belgium, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Romanian company S.N. Nuclearelectrica S.A. and the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest, reports Kazatomprom.
The document is aimed at developing cooperation in personnel training for the nuclear industry, including the joint development of educational and certification programs, the organization of training sessions, as well as the exchange of knowledge and best practices in the field of nuclear engineering.
The signing of the Memorandum marks the continuation of cooperation between Kazatomprom and S.N. Nuclearelectrica S.A., which is built upon ensuring stable supplies of Kazakh natural uranium for the needs of the Romanian nuclear energy.
“Professional development of personnel is one of our strategic objectives. For the nuclear industry, it is particularly important to systematically develop professional competencies and train qualified specialists in line with the modern technologies. We view the signing of this Memorandum as a significant step in developing human capital, which is an integral part of the cooperation with our Romanian partners,” said Meirzhan Yussupov, CEO of Kazatomprom.
Within the framework of the Memorandum, the parties also plan to establish an annual Kazakhstan-Romania Nuclear Industry Dialogue as a platform for exchanging experience and coordinating joint initiatives in the field of civil nuclear energy.
The parties reaffirmed their intention to consistently implement the agreements and to continue developing bilateral cooperation.
