During a working visit to the Karaganda region, Alibek Zhamauov, Chair of the Management Board of QazaqGaz, inspected a newly built shift complex for employees of the Temirtau Linear Production Department of Intergas Central Asia, a QazaqGaz subsidiary. An identical complex has also been constructed for staff of the company’s Zhezkazgan unit. Each site covers 10,150 m², with a building footprint of 1,172.42 m².

Each complex includes:An administrative and utility building for 23 employees, featuring workspaces, a training room, an archive, a server room, a medical office and a treatment room;
A dormitory for 12 shift workers with living and rest areas, facilities for cooking and dining, as well as a gym with modern equipment, a laundry, ironing and drying rooms with dedicated cabinets for workwear, shower rooms with lockers, and additional service and storage rooms;
A security checkpoint equipped with an ISKUD access system, a modern perimeter-security control panel and CCTV.

“Caring for our workforce and creating comfortable working conditions at production facilities are fundamental principles for QazaqGaz. In the Year of Skilled Trades, our focus on supporting frontline professionals has taken on special significance. These modern, multi-functional complexes mark a new level in organising life for shift workers. A comfortable environment directly supports productivity and underpins the successful delivery of all operational tasks,” said the head of QazaqGaz.

The new facilities replace temporary cabins and rented housing typically used during early-stage commissioning of new sites and gas-transport routes.

Construction was completed ahead of schedule, in just seven months. This was achieved thanks to the use of advanced modular units, which offer key advantages: improved functionality and comfort, high thermal and sound insulation, reliability and long service life with minimal maintenance.

During the trip, Alibek Zhamauov also reviewed the heating season progress in the Karaganda and Ulytau regions. Routine maintenance of the gas network has already been completed, including instrument-based inspections of more than 50.7 km of pipelines. Particular attention is being paid to household gas safety. Together with the Emergency Department, an SMS campaign has been launched, and awareness-raising work with residents is under way. The regional branch is equipped with a fleet of 16 specialised vehicles to ensure rapid response.

Gas specialists remind residents that proper use of gas equipment is essential during the heating season. They recommend regularly airing rooms, never leaving gas appliances unattended, and reporting any unusual smells or suspected faults to the emergency service on 104.
