Cold temperature, winds grip northern Kazakhstan

Rain showers, thunderstorms and wind will batter most regions of Kazakhstan today, May 12. Only northern and northwestern Kazakhstan will enjoy weather without precipitation.

According to Kazhydromet, stiff wind gusting up to 15-20 mps will hit Almaty, Zhambyl, South Kazakhstan, Pavlodar and East Kazakhstan regions.

Fog will blanket Kostanay and North Kazakhstan regions in the morning.

Gusty wind and thunderstorm is expected in Mangystau, Atyrau, Karaganda and Akmola regions.

Meteorologists also predict that mercury will drop to 0-5°C in Kostanay, North Kazakhstan, Pavlodar and Akmola regions.
