In Issatai District of Atyrau Oblast, Kazakhstan, oil spill occurred from Gran-Martyshi oil pipeline.
As reported by media service of Atyrau Oblast Department for Emergencies, on December 20, they received a phone call from the chief of Issatai district emergency department telling that near the village of Akkistau emerged oil spill from a 159mm process pipeline of ZhaikMunayGas (a KMG subsidary) at Gran oilfield, some 300 meters from the Atyrau-Astrakhan highroad.
The spill covers the area of about 600 square meters.
District emergency officers and prosecutors arrived at the place.
At the moment ZhaikMunayGas employees are taking clean-up actions and measuring the area's contamination.
