The participants in the talks in Minsk plan to implement the ceasefire in the east of Ukraine in the next 48 hours, German agency DPA said on Thursday, citing its own sources.
The breakthrough may be made at the summit, the agency said. The document, prepared after the meeting on the settlement in Ukraine, needs to be signed by representatives of the Contact Group and heads of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR).
The negotiations in the Normandy format between Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko lasted for around 14 hours.
