
Astana, February 24, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Vassilenko held a meeting with members of the Croatian Sabor (Parliament), who arrived in Astana with a visit. The delegation was headed by Sanda Livija Maduna, a member of the Croatian Democratic Union.
During the meeting, parties discussed ways to strengthen interparliamentary ties, expand political and trade-economic cooperation, and coordination within international organizations, including the OSCE and the Council of Europe.
Particular attention was devoted to the importance of high-level reciprocal visits, which contribute to developing the partnership between Astana and Zagreb.
Deputy Minister Vassilenko reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to deepening ties with Croatia, one of the country’s key partners in the Balkan region. He highlighted the importance of the visit by Croatian parliamentarians, as it opens new prospects for enhancing interparliamentary connections.
The delegation of the Sabor of Croatia, in turn, agreed that the visit offers an excellent opportunity to thoroughly explore the potential of bilateral relations and expressed their readiness to support the advancement of active cooperation with Kazakhstan.
The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Croatia in 2024 amounted to 282 million US dollars, including exports - 254 million, imports - 28 million. In 2023, the turnover reached 432 million dollars. Currently, 18 companies with Croatian capital are registered in Kazakhstan, operating in the construction, food industry, services, and professional and scientific-technical sectors.
