Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Moldova Almat Aidarbekov held a meeting with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova Corina Călugăru.
The parties discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda and promising areas of Kazakhstan–Moldova cooperation, noting the constructive nature of the political dialogue. Particular attention was paid to developing trade and economic, investment, transport and logistics, energy, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Ambassador Aidarbekov briefed the Moldovan side on the entry into force of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the upcoming elections to the Kurultai on 23 August this year. In turn, Călugăru emphasized the importance of the political transformations underway in Kazakhstan and wished the country success in the elections.
The Ambassador noted significant potential for intensifying business contacts, diversifying bilateral trade and implementing new joint projects. The successful presence of companies from both countries was highlighted, including Moldovan company JLC’s activities in Kazakhstan’s dairy production sector, as well as the operations of Kazakh companies Rompetrol, Temir Zhol Zhondeu, Aqzhol Qurylys, ES Engineering and Dolce Pharm in Moldova.
Particular attention was paid to Kazakhstan’s international initiatives, including President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s proposal to establish an International Water Organization under the auspices of the United Nations. The relevance of this initiative was emphasized amid climate change and growing water scarcity.
The State Secretary reaffirmed Moldova’s interest in further strengthening relations with Kazakhstan and expanding practical cooperation.
The parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening political dialogue and expanding mutually beneficial cooperation.
