JSC "NC "QazaqGaz" has successfully completed the gas connection for the Pravyy Bereg district in Temirtau. The launch ceremony for gas supply to the second phase of subscribers in the first start-up complex was attended by Sanzhar Zharkeshov, CEO of QazaqGaz.
The gas infrastructure project is part of the President’s initiative to gasify the regions, carried out in partnership with local authorities. With the launch of the second phase of the 1st and 2nd start-up complexes, over 1,700 households will gain access to natural gas.
"QazaqGaz is actively working on gasifying settlements in Karaganda, Temirtau, and the newly established Ulytau region. This is not only an investment in the comfort and environmental well-being of residents but also a key driver for local economic development. We will continue to collaborate with Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy to explore further investment opportunities for expanding the gas network along the Saryarka pipeline," said the company’s CEO.
Residents of Pravyy Bereg have already started connecting to the gas network. The move to natural gas will reduce the district’s reliance on coal heating, ultimately cutting down on pollutant emissions and improving the region’s environmental conditions.
In addition, Sanzhar Zharkeshov and Temirtau's akim, Galym Ashimov, visited the home of the 6,000th resident connected to natural gas in the Karaganda region. The family received a certificate of honor and a commemorative gift. Residents were also reminded of the importance of following safety guidelines when using gas in their homes and regularly checking their gas equipment.
Most gas-related accidents occur due to poor chimney ventilation, blocked air vents, lack of automatic shut-off devices on gas appliances, leaving appliances unattended, or neglecting regular maintenance. Such practices can lead to serious, and sometimes tragic, consequences.
Additionally, the CEO of QazaqGaz inspected the progress of the gasification project at the Qarmet plant. The project involves several key stages, including the installation of both external and internal gas pipelines, and is on track according to the established timeline. Currently, 60% of the work has been completed. Notably, all equipment and materials for this project are being sourced entirely from Kazakhstani manufacturers.
In 2025, a gas pipeline from the Saryarka mainline, which passes just 25 km from the plant, will be completed. This will be a major milestone for the plant and represents the largest environmental initiative in its history.
Gasification of Qarmet will significantly improve the environmental situation in the region.
