The Atyrau Administrative Court examined the case under Article 73-1 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Republic of Kazakhstan (‘intentionally causing minor harm to health’) in relation to a US citizen. On November 10th at about midnight near Riviera Park Residence, the 34-year old American from Miami, being drunk, entered into a verbal exchange with a local resident and then hit him in the face.
At the court hearing with the participation of an interpreter, the expat pleaded guilty, explaining that he had reached reconciliation with the victim, and asked for the case to be dismissed.
‘In connection with the reconciliation with the injured, court order, the administrative offence case has been terminated’, the press service of the Specialised Administrative Court of Atyrau said. If it were not for reconciliation, the American would receive a fine of 15 MCI (38875 tenge) or an administrative arrest of up to 15 days.
Recently on November 15-16, in Atyrau, at Fresh and Go café, a local resident beat a foreign expat. After the incident, the expat flew to Dubai and a pre trial investigation is underway against the local resident under article 107 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (‘intentionally causing moderate severity of harm to health’).
