Personnel of a chemical plant in north-west of France failed to stop gas leak that resulted in 'rotten eggs' smell spreading over Paris and London.
The gas leak occurred on Monday at the plant of a French subsidiary of American chemical company of Lubrizol situated near the city of Rouen, in some 120km to the north of Paris.
Reasons have not been announced yet. The plant is shut down.
Delphine Batho, French environmental minister, who delayed her official visit to Berlin, promised that authorities will find out the reasons for the leak and check if the company should be brought to account for this incident.
