​Kazakhstan enforced life imprisonment for pedophiles

Kazakhstan toughened punishment for pedophiles. For the first time the country enforced life imprisonment for rape of underaged.

"The RoK criminal code as of January 1, 2015 introduced LIF imprisonment for rape of underage for the first time, as well as for violent acts of sexual character concerning the underage. The court can also choose imprisonment for a period of 15 to 20 years" – wrote the lawyer on this page in Facebook.

"The new code closed all chances for pedophiles! For them the following is cancelled: conditional condemnation; conditional early release; any limitation periods; reconciliation with victim; release at true repentance, guarantee or confluence of heavy circumstances; replacement of unexpired part of punishment by a penalty or restriction of freedom; delay of serving of imprisonment in the presence of children; amnesty. However, the road to this decision was very long" – noted the lawyer.
