The Senate approved the decision to establish the demarcation line of sections of the Caspian Sea between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
"The agreement will establish a boundary line of the sections of the Caspian Sea between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan in order to ensure favorable conditions for implementation of the sovereign rights of the Republic of Kazakhstan in exploration, development and utilization of resources of the seabed and subsoil of the Caspian Sea, as well as to conduct other legitimate economic activities in the area of the bottom of the Caspian Sea," - said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Yerlan Idrisov.
Earlier, a similar agreement was ratified by the Parliament of Turkmenistan.
