President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov will pay an official visit to Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports citing the press service of Akorda.
Nursultan Nazarbayev and Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov discussed the details of Tukmenistan President's visit in a phone conversation.
In addition, the two leaders touched upon the issues related to the bilateral cooperation as well as the course of implementation of the agreements reached during the official visit of Nursultan Nazarbayev to Turkmenistan last December.
The two counterparts praised the outcomes of the Kazakh President's December visit and once again stressed the need for a more efficient use of the trade and economic potential and the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway that connects landlocked Central Asia to the Persian Gulf. In particular, the 930-kilometer railway opens up the markets of the Middle East and its ports for Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan through Iran and the markets of China and the Pacific Ocean through Kazakhstan for Iran and Turkmenistan.
During his visit to Turkmenistan in December 2014, President Nazarbayev emphasized that the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway link would give a strong impetus to the economic partnership of the two nations.
“Thanks to the railway link towards the Persian Gulf, the trade turnover this year has grown by 38%. It is an unprecedented growth. There is a vast potential to be unleashed to the benefit of the people," President Nazarbayev said then.
During the phone conversation, Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov also emphasized the importance of the April 26 presidential elections in Kazakhstan for the country's further stable development.
