Kazakhstan will be temporarily provided with energy resources almost 90 years, said Minister of Energy Vladimir Shkolnik during the event on providing publication of the International Energy Agency and the INOGATE program with images of energy policy of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia, BNews.kz reports.
"The total volume of recoverable basic fuel resources: oil, gas, coal and uranium. We extract 35 bn tons of oil equivalent without the sun and the wind. Current annual production of primary energy resources reached 400 mn tons. The energy equivalent of uranium is considered. At the same time, domestic consumption of our state is about 60 mn of energy equivalent ," said Vladimir Shkolnik.
He noted that in this regard, energy efficiency is very important for Kazakhstan as energy consumption per unit of gross domestic product behind the different countries by 2,5 times.
"Energy efficiency is one of the most important issues of improving our competitiveness. Thus, Kazakhstan will be temporarily provided with energy resources almost 90 years. We understand that the geological survey, exploration should be continued. We didn't explore much larger volumes that we have in our country, " said Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
