Today, April 15, is Lovers' Day (also known as Kozy Korpesh and Bayan Sulu Day) in Kazakhstan. This holiday appeared only in 2011 as an answer to international St. Valentine's Day, that is observed on February 14.

This day is celebrated in honour of Kozy Korpesh and Bayan Slou – the heroes of the Kazakh epos of the 13th -14th centuries about tragic, beautiful love and death of the young man Kozy Korpesh and his beloved Bayan Slou.
