Kazakhstan's president Nursultan Nazarbayev tasked the government to prepare transition of Kazakh letters to Latin script by 2025.
Currently, Kazakhs use Cyrillic in writing.
"It is needed to start preparation for transition of Kazakh letters to Latin script now. This will not only help develop the Kazakh language, but make it a language of up-to-date information," he said in his speech at the solemn meeting on the occasion of 21st anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence on Friday.
