Water will be low in Ural River this year

When water is low at the Ural River, time to clean garbage that is inaccessible during high water season.This year water level in the Ural River during flooding season is expected to be low, reported Bisen Kuanov, the head of Ural-Caspian interregional basin inspection of water management.

- The water content of the Ural River depends on a snow storage in Russia and the Aktobe Oblast. For severe flood the snow in the Ural Mountains should thaw quickly, and for that condition it is necessary to have solar heat and, in parallel, plenty of rain. But this year the spring is prolonged. Along the whole basin of the Ural River cold temperature persists. No use from the winter snow, since it melts slowly and small portions of thawed snow quickly disappear because of windy weather. Now there is not much snow left in the Ural Mountains, - says B. Kuanov.

In May the peak of flood within Atyrau limits is expected to be about 400 cm vs norm of 455 cm (last year it was  467 cm).

Most likely the tygai woods (flood-plain forest) located on coasts of Ural riverheads, will not be flooded with water.

Because of lack of water there will be problems with fish entering the river from the sea during fishing season in autumn.
