Kazakhstan’s upper parliament house has asked the country's president, Nursultan Nazarbayev, to hold early presidential election.
A total of 41 out of 42 members of the Senate voted in favor this document at the Senate’s session on Thursday, reports TASS news agency.
"In conditions of growing global tension, with emerging conflict situations and crises in the global economy, it is vital to ensure political stability," the lawmakers said in their appeal to the president.
They noted that Kazakhstan was entering a new stage of its development, itar-tass reports.
On February, the Council of Kazakhstan People’s Assembly (the lower house of parliament) came forward with an initiative to hold early presidential elections. Under the country's laws, presidential elections are called by the head of state and organized within two months from the day of they are called.
