N. Nazarbayev welcomed participants of events dedicated to start of Year of People's Assembly

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev welcomed the participants of the events dedicated the start of the Year of People's Assembly, the welcome speech of the President was read by Secretary of State Gulshara Abdykalikova.

"20 years ago on March 1, 1995, I signed the Decree on establishment of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan - the unique institution called to preserve peace and accord in our society. Over this period of time, this institution has become a truly people's, civil, supra-political body and now it has a constitutional status," the President said in his welcome address, infrom.kz reports. 

According to the Secretary of State, the Assembly is an institute for representation of people, locomotive of the society. "Therefore, the Year of People's Assembly is our common holiday, the holiday of every one of 17 million people of Kazakhstan. Every citizen has to feel responsibility for peace and accord in Kazakhstan. This is the key things for development of Kazakhstan," she noted. 

G. Abdykalikova also emphasized that the Year of People's Assembly was the year of big and specific actions conceived for achievement of the goals of the 2050-Strategy. Besides, the year is filled with such important events as celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Constitution, 550th anniversary of establishment of the Kazakh Khanate and 70th anniversary of the Great Victory.
