Worker died from meningitis infection in Tengiz

In the morning of January 26 two employees of Imstalkom LLP contracting company were delivered to the TCO rotational village clinic with symptoms of infectious disease - 41-y.o. R. and 23-y.o., both are the citizens of East Kazakhstan Oblast. Soon the elder person died.

The second man was taken first to the district hospital, and then to the regional center where he diagnosed for “Meningitis. Meningococcemia."  He is getting treatment.

“The symptoms of the patients are as follows: the body temperature increases up to 37 degrees C, weakness, the body and feet are covered with purpura rash, - informed the press service rep of the regional akimat. Three persons who contacted the patient were isolated into TCO clinic and are now under the strict medical supervision. So far they don’t have the symptoms of the illness. Special team of doctors have been sent from Atyrau to Zhyloi Distrcit consisting of an infection disease doctor, an epidemiologist and heads of virologic and bacteriological laboratories. According to the regional department of consumer rights protection the situation is under control”.
