Mazhilis ratifies agreement in transit of Italian military equipment from Afghanistan via Kazakhstan

The Mazhilis (lower house) of the Parliament of Kazakhstan ratified the agreement with Italy in transit of military equipment and personnel from Afghanistan via the territory of Kazakhstan.

The agreement defines procedure for the transit of military equipment and personnel of Italy through Kazakhstan with the aim to support international efforts for the stabilization and normalization of the situation in Afghanistan.

The transit of aircrafts will be made on the basis of the permits issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan. The air routes for making the transit of Italian aircrafts are specified in the annex 2 of the agreement

In addition, the Kazakh side provides air navigation services.

All the costs of the transit of military equipment and personnel will be covered by the Italian side itself.
