Foster Wheeler has supplied over 200 steam reformers to the refining and petrochemical industries in more than 40 countries worldwide.Foster Wheeler has received a contract from Marubeni for the engineering and material supply of a new Terrace Wall steam reformer heater for the KazMunayGas oil refinery located at Atyrau, Republic of Kazakhstan, ebr.com reports.
Under the contract, Foster Wheeler will provide Terrace Wall steam reformer, including an air preheating system, for the refinery.
The steam reformer will be part of a hydrogen production unit which is scheduled to be built at the refinery with a capacity of 24,000 normal cubic meters per hour.
Work under the contract is expected to be completed in April 2015.
Featuring sloped-wall radiant section design, the Foster Wheeler's Terrace Wall reformer is characterized by a firing arrangement and allows long catalyst tube life while providing the flexibility to extend a reformer's operating envelope.
As part of refinery modernization project, Marubeni awarded the comntract on behalf of the SINOPEC Engineering (Group)/Marubeni/KazStroyService consortium which is executing the engineering, procurement and construction of the refinery.
