On May 22, an evening trip along the river turned into a tragedy for a few citizens of Erkinkaka village.
The message that seven men turned over in a motorboat in Ural River near MMS village came to the emergency point duty operator’s desk at 6:15pm. Six of them managed to swim to the coast, but the seventh, 29-y.o. man, drowned. Divers found his body this morning.
According to Berikkali Aidarov, regional water rescue service employee, the place where the tragedy took place has an ill fame. Here the river bed splits into two sleeves, and a water current is very strong. Recently two 14-y.o. boys drowned here on May 16.
