Silk Road revival to boost economic development of all states along its route - Nazarbayev

Revival of the ancient Silk Road will boost economic and social development of all countries along its route, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the opening session of 47th meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank in Astana, inform.kz reports.

"Revival of the ancient Silk Road will boost economic and social development of the political stability and eventually progress, prosperity and peace in all countries along its route," President Nazarbayev noted.

The Head of State stressed that construction of the transport corridor "Western China - Western Europe" is a part of the huge project "Kazakhstan - new Silk Road" that is to increase transit traffic through the territory of the country tenfold by 2050. 

"This mega project envisages creation of the modern transport and logistics system offering multiple effective options of ground-transportation based cargo delivery within Kazakhstan," the President concluded.
