KazEOSat-1 successfully launched from Kourou space centre in French Guiana

The Europe's Vega carrier rocket with the first Kazakhstan's earth remote sensing satellite on board has been successfully launched today at 07:35 by Astana time from the Kourou space centre, French Guiana, reports.

The first Kazakhstani satellite was built entirely by Airbus Defense and Space) formerly known as EADS Astrium) and is a very high-resolution (1 metre) satellite weighing 900 kg that will provide Kazakhstan with a complete range of civil applications, including monitoring of natural and agricultural resources, the provision of mapping data, security applications, and support for rescue operations in the event of natural disasters.
