Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan AbdyldaevMinister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan AbdyldaevThe Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan considers the latest statement of Viktor Yanukovych inappropriate and inadequate. It became known yesterday evening after the Foreign Ministry spread a press release, 24.kg reports.

"The Kyrgyz Republic shares the concern of the international community in connection with the escalation of tension in Ukraine. Country condemns any acts aimed at destabilizing the situation in Ukraine. Therefore, we consider inappropriate and inadequate the statement of Viktor Yanukovych on March 11 this year, "the text reports.

"The only source of power in any country is its people, and a president who lost his people's trust, who de facto lost his presidential authority and, moreover, who fled the country, cannot be legitimate," the statement says. "That ill-conceived actions and corruptness of former Ukrainian authorities led to the current crisis and the death of dozens of innocent people in Ukraine," the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes.

"Kyrgyzstan supports the early settlement of the situation in Ukraine by peaceful means, through negotiations and dialogue, in strict compliance with international law and the UN Charter," the Kyrgyz diplomats note.
