Mass media published video about dispersal of protests in Almaty

On Saturday, in Almaty the police forces dispersed the protesters near the monument to Abai. The authorities declared protest action as illegal, azh.kz reports, citing nur.kz.

Protest meeting participants were stopped at the Independence Monument.

To recall, on Feb 15, more than 100 people gathered for anti-devaluation meeting in Almaty. About 30 people were detained and the majority of them were held administratively liable in the form of fines. According to the human rights activist Yermek Narymbayev, two protestors were arrested for 10 and 15 days.
