32 Kazakh higher education institutions will start tri-lingual education curricula since 2013, Kazakh Minister of Education and Science Bakytzhan Zhumagulov stated at the Eurasian forum of leaders of higher education in the Nazarbayev University last week.
“Internationalization of education occupies a special place in the modern world. Within its framework, I want to emphasize the issue of training multilingual professionals. This is extremely important for Kazakhstan, which is rapidly developing its open economy and social sphere,” Zhumagulov said.
The Minister noted that President Nursultan Nazarbayev has set a target, according to which Kazakhstan must become a highly educated country, whose population will speak three languages - Kazakh, Russian and English. Therefore, Kazakhstan is taking specific measures to develop multilingual education.
