Painting by Sh. Sariev, Kyz-Zhibek. According to Atyrau City Akimat press service, the Atyrau City Day will be marked on Saturday, October 20. It has become a traditional holiday for Atyrau residents and its guests and inalienable part of cultural and public life of the city.
The schedule of events includes the reception of the veterans of labor and war by the Oblast Governor, meetings of the Honourable citizens of Atyrau with the students and schoolchildren.
The concerts will be organized at orphanages, old people homes, etc. The citizens can participate in competitions for the City Prize on mini-football and cross-country race.
On October 19, at 15.00 the art exhibition of famous Kazakh artist Shaimardan Sariev (who was also called “Kazakh Gauguin”) will be opened at the local art gallery named after his name. The exhibition is dedicated to his 75th jubilee.
Another art exhibition of a young “Shabyt” international youth festival winner Anar Abzhanova will take place at Ak Zhelken exhibition hall.
The reciters’ competition “Blossom, my lovely city of Atyrau!”, the concert of the young talents and festive events will take place in the city and in all rural districts.
The traditional concert will take place on Saturday evening at Makhambet and Isatai Square, which will end with colourful fireworks.
