Kazakhstan has received the status of a follower of Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI), the press service of KAZENERGY reports.

"At a meeting in Abidjan city, Cote d'Ivoire, the Board of the International Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative addressed the issue of Kazakhstan’s compliance with the standards of the Initiative. As a result, the final decision was made on the efforts undertaken by EITI implementation and its results in Kazakhstan deserve the highest scores, thus it was announced that Kazakhstan has been assigned the status of "follower" – says the statement.

It bears to remind that the Republic of Kazakhstan has committed itself to implement the EITI standards in 2005 on the initiative of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev. EITI standards aimed at transparency in corporate and government earnings in mining sector. The EITI has high international, political and anticorruption status.

Today, our country can proudly claim a high level of transparency in extractive industries, recognized at international level.
