Trains collide in Almaty, wound five

A passenger train run into another at the Almaty-2 train station, reports the city's transport police.

The incident took place Sunday at around 17.00, a source told KazTAG.

Reportedly, the Almaty-Novosibirsk passenger train was waiting for departure at 16.42 on line 4 when a dispatcher who had to refer the second train en route to Petropavlovsk to line 3 to leave at 17.18, mistakenly navigated it to line 4 and crashed it into the tail end of the Novosibirsk train.

Five people received various body injuries in the collision. 

The case is being investigated.
