Young man fined for a KZ flag on his car hood

Wishing to express his patriotism, a 23 year old young man from Atyrau fastened a Kazakhstan flag onto the hood of his Mercedes. Unfortunately for him, prosecution officers did not appreciate his noble action and fined him 323,600 tenge.

According to the chief assistant to the city prosecutor Kamel RAMAZAN, the incident occurred on September 23.

The car with a flag was spotted in the evening, at around 21.00 at the intersection of Azattyk Avenue and Auezov Street, reports the Prosecutor's Office. - Actions committed by this citizen are classified as per Part 1 of Article 354-1 of Administrative Violations Code. On October 2, he faced trial and now he has to pay 200 monthly calculation indexes to the benefit of state.

The law prohibits placing the national flag elsewhere except designated prominent places. According to prosecutors, a car hood belittles the significance of state symbols.

By the way, about a month ago, a 40 year old resident of Petropavlovsk was nearly convicted for disposing Kazakhstan flags instead of curtains in his apartment. By doing so, he had wished to express his patriotism. After an explanatory procedure he successfully returned home free - to change the curtains.
