A part of oil produced in Atyrau Oblast at Kashagan offshore field will be mixed with oil from the Siberia deposit before sending to the world market.
It is assumed that initially small amounts of the Kashagan oil will be transported by the Atyrau-Samara pipeline. Kazakh oil will be mixed with Siberian oil of similar properties. In this way, it will be possible to keep a high price for Kazakhstan's raw material delivered to Samara, before sending it to the world market.
NOTE: Pilot oil production at Kashagan field in Atyrau region will begin no later than October the current year, according to Uzakbai Karabalin, Minister of Oil and Gas of Kazakhstan, who visited the region last week.
