'EXPO-2017' Organizing Committee to be disbanded - President of Kazakhstan

Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev charged to dissolve the Organizing Committee on preparations for the International specialized exhibition "EXPO-2017".

"Analysis of the first three months has revealed that the management system of the International exhibition "EXPO-2017 is too complicated," President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev noted during the extended session on Astana city further development.

According to the President, the main work must be done by the national company set up for these purposes. By the way, currently this national company has too many directors, such as the State Committee, the Board of Directors, the Organizing Committee, the secretariat of the Organizing Committee, which duplicate functions of each other.

"I suppose the work should be done in a following manner: the Government defines tasks and controls them through the Board of Directors. Akimat has to provide technical standards, information on planning of transport logistics and other necessary conditions," Nazarbayev said.
