Tokhtar Aubakirov, the 1st cosmonaut of KazakhstanTo continue the space topic, let’s remember the cosmonauts from Kazakhstan.
Toktar Aubakirov, the first Kazakh cosmonaut, is now a retired Kazakh Air Force officer and consultant. On October 2, 1991 he launched with the Russian cosmonaut Alexander Volkov as flight commander, and the Austrian research cosmonaut Franz Viehböck in Soyuz TM-13 from the Baikonur Cosmodrome spaceport, and spent over eight days in space.
Talgat MussabaevTalgat Mussabaev, the 2nd Kazakh cosmonaut, the lieutenant general of aircraft of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Chairman of National space agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Mussabaev is the 79th cosmonaut of USSR/Russia and the 309th astronaut of the world.
His 1st flight was on July 1 - Nov 4, 1994 as the flight engineer of KK "TM-19 Union" and EO-16 lasting 125 days 22 hours 53 minutes 36 seconds.
The 2nd flight - from Jan 29 to Aug 25, 1998 as the commander of KK "TM-27 Union" and EO-25 lasting 207 days of 12 hours 51 minutes 2 seconds.
The 3rd flight - from Apr 28 to May 6, 2001 as the commander of "TM-32 Union" lasting 7 days 22 hours 4 minutes 3 seconds.
The total time spent in space — 341 days 9 hours 48 minutes 41 second.
Mussabaev is currently Co-Chairman of the Intergovernment Commison on Baikonur between Russia and Kazakhstan.
Viktor PatsayevVictor Patsayev, the 25th astronaut of the USSR and the 53rd astronaut of the world. Was born in Aktobe. His 1st flight: on 30th June, 1971 as the flight engineer of the first Salut space station. Upon the return to the Earth the whole crew in the spaceship was found dead.
Alexander ViktorenkoAlexander Viktorenko, the 62nd astronaut of the USSR and the 201st astronaut of the world.
Was born in the North Kazakhstan Oblast. His 1st flight: 22-30 July,1987 as the commander of the international crew (EP-1) on the orbital Mir complex TM-2 Union.
The 2nd flight: 06.09.1989. – 19.02.1990. as the commander of EO-5 on the orbital Mir complex TM-8 Union. He made 5 exits into open space lasting 17 hours 38 minutes, including testing of domestic installation of maneuvering in space.
The 3rd flight: 17.03-10.08.1992 as the commander of EP-9 and EO-11 on the orbital Mir complex. Made exit into open space lasting 2 hours of 3 minutes.
The 4th flight: 04.10.1994. – 22.03.1995 as the commander of EP-12 and EO-17 on the orbital Mir complex. In 1997 Viktorenko retired as the Air Force Colonel.
Yuri LonchakovYuri Lonchakov, the 94th astronaut of the USSR and the 402 astronaut of the world.
Was born in Balkhash, Dzhezkazgan Oblast.
His 1st flight: 19.04 . - 01.05.2001. on MTKK "Indevor" (STS-100) as a part of the 9th expedition of visit with the American astronauts: K.Romindger, Eshbi, K.Hedfild (Canada), D. Phillips, P. Parazinsky, U.Guidoni (Italy).
Vladimir ShatalovVladimir Shatalov, the 13th astronaut of the USSR and the 35th astronaut of the world.
Was born in Petropavlovsk, North Kazakhstan Oblast.
His 1st flight: 14-17.01.1969 as the commander of the spaceship "Union-4 ″.
The 2nd flight: 13-18.10.1969 as the commander of the ship "Union-8 ″.
The 3rd flight: 23-25.04.1971 as the commander of the ship "Union-10 ″.
They are the heroes of Kazakhstan and should be remembered!
