According to the labour contract, a group of South Korean scholars headed by consultant on ICT Kim Nam Seok began its activity at the Uzbek State Committee for Communication, Information and Telecommunication Technologies.

Earlier, he worked as the First Deputy Minister of Public Administration and Security of the Republic of Korea, the State Committee said.

The group will promote the forming of an 'electronic government' system in Uzbekistan during its stay.

According to the Uzbek President's decree, Kim Nam Seok obtained the status of Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Communications, Information and Telecommunication Technologies to use Korea's successful experience, as well as the effective implementation of the 'e-government' concept.

According to the State Committee for Communications, Information and Telecommunication Technologies, Korea has been in the lead in the UN world ranking to implement the 'e-government' system for several years. Currently, it is implementing the 'Smart Government' strategy as the next phase of the system.

Kim Nam Seok took this post as a practical implementation of the agreements reached during Uzbek President Islam Karimov's visit to Seoul in September last year.

The State Committee for Communication, Information and Telecommunication Technologies was established upon the Uzbek President's decree in October 2012 on the basis of the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information.

The main tasks of the committee are to ensure the implementation of a unified state policy in the field of information and to develop and implement integrated national programmes, as well as introduce modern information and telecommunication technologies and state governance.
