Alibek Zhamauov, Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC QazaqGaz,” held talks with Chen Huailong, President of China National Oil and Gas Corporation (CNODC), reports QazaqGaz. The two sides reviewed the progress of ongoing joint projects and confirmed their intention to expand collaboration in the field of geological exploration.
At present, the central joint project between the two companies is the “Northern 1” exploration site in the Aktobe region. Basic agreements defining the terms of cooperation and allocation of responsibilities have already been signed. Successful implementation of this project will lay the foundation for extending joint activities and moving on to larger-scale initiatives.
“The national company faces a strategic task of significantly increasing its gas resource base. In the near term, we plan to expand our portfolio of exploration projects,” Zhamauov told his partners.
During the meeting, both sides emphasised that CNODC is regarded as a key and strategically important partner in the development of gas projects in Kazakhstan. QazaqGaz also highlighted the value it places on the open and professional dialogue that has developed between the parties.
