Ex-governor of Mangystau Oblast [province] Baurzhan Mukhamedzhanov has been assigned Kazakhstan's ambassador to one of the Baltic states, reports a source in foreign ministry.
"Baurzhan Mukhamedzhanov, ex-head of Mangystau Oblast, is now an ambassador to a Baltic state. He is an experienced lawyer. Participated in development of international acts and interstate documents. His practice will be of use in diplomatic service."
Over his career, 52-year-old Mukhamedzhanov has worked as a minister of justice, deputy prime minister, deputy head of presidential administration, minister of internal affairs, and a member of the Senate.
From December 2011 through January 2013 he was the governor of Mangystau Oblast until he was replaced with Alik Aidarbayev.
