​Grave mistake made by operator in Tengiz caused serious bodily harm (updated)

Zhyloi district court delivered verdict in relation to TCO operator pursuant to item 2 of Article 156 of RoK Criminal Code ("Violation of safety rules that caused serious harm to health").

According to senior prosecutor of Zhyloi district Altyngul Ismagulova, the incident took place on January 15 of the current year in Tengiz.

The operator opened the valve to check the presence of gas in F-209 apparatus of unit 200. One of the workers who was standing next to him was seriously poisoned with toxic gases and delivered to TCO clinic.

The court ruled that the guilty person should pay 277 000 tenge in fines.
