KZ introduces Import Ban on Old Cars as of Jan 1, 2013

As of January 1, 2013 Kazakhstan is imposing ban on import and manufacture of Euro-2 or lower environmental classes vehicles, reports Kolyosa.kz citing press service of RoK MinTransCom (Transport and Communications Ministry).

It means that Euro-3 standard is effective in our country from January 1, 2013.  

It is specified in Article 14 of the Technical Regulations about Emission Requirements to Hazardous (polluting) Substances of Vehicles Released on the Territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, approved by the RoK government order # 1372 on December 29, 2007.

Now the government is reviewing another issue – the introduction of Euro-4 environmental standard for vehicles that will be imported to Kazakhstan as of July 1, 2013”.
