Ukraine shuts down its consulates in Almaty and other 8 cities of world

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced it has shut down nine of its consulates around the world in order to optimize the public funds, RIA Novosti reported citing official representative of the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Evgeniy Perebiynis.

The consulates are closing in Suceava (Romania), Presov (Slovakia), Varna (Bulgaria), Marseille (France), Batumi (Georgia), Nizhny Novgorod (Russia), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Haifa (Israel) and Curitiba (Brazil), akipress.org reports.

Perebiynis explains the consulates are being closed in these cities as they had the least amount of work and number of host nationals.
