Astana hosts forum on Samruk-Kazyna's transformation

A forum on Samruk-Kazyna JSC's transformation started its work in Astana today, azh.kz refers to inform.kz.

The program of fund's transformation has been officially presented at the event. RoK President Nazarbayev made a speech at the meeting, as well as Chairman of Samruk-Kazyna NWF Umirzak Shukeyev who delivered a keynote speech.  

Head of State Nursultan Nazarbayev has instructed Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund to develop its own innovations, the president's Twitter account reads.

"Without its own innovations the fund will not be able to increase its efficiency and enter world markets," President Nazarbayev noted.

Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund JSC should return to its initial mission, believes President Nazarbayev.

"It is high time for Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund to return to its initial role," President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev voiced his opinion at the forum on the fund's transformation in Astana on Monday.

"After the fund was established, Kazakhstan was hit hard by the economic crisis. The fund shouldered the responsibility to find solutions in those trying times. For instance, it helped the domestic second-tier banks to get to their feet," the President said.

The Head of State noted that since the banks are doing well now, it is high time for the fund to get back to its initial mission.

The President also named Kazpost JSC and KEGOC JSC as the most inefficient local companies.
