Sabina Altynbekova, a teenage volleyball player from Kazakhstan, is slammed by critics for being too beautiful to be playing volleyball, ibtimes.co.uk reports.
Sports critics of the country are complaining that 17-year-old Altynbekova is so beautiful that she is a distraction for the sport, the Huffington Post reported.
The volleyball player is also facing the ire of her own coach, who thinks that the under-19 team in the country is increasingly becoming a one-player team as Altynbekova ends up stealing the limelight for her beauty, not sporting skills, the website reported.
"It is impossible to work like this, the crowd behaves like there is only one player at the championship," Nurlan Sadikov, coach of the junior national team of Kazakhstan told the local news website vesti.kz.
Although the coach said they were proud of their little girl garnering worldwide attention for her supreme good looks, he was upset that it was affecting the other girls' morale as nobody was bothered about their performance.
"Of course we are very pleased that our little girl turned heads tens of thousands of people and it is very good for the country. However, if it was a team regular, it would be better tolerated by all players of the team. And so it turns out that all the attention she draws one, and the whole team is deprived of attention at all. You see, we are in fact talking about the women's team," Sadikov added.
Her good looks got the teen player the attention of spectators and journalists alike during the Asian Championship held in Taipei, even when she was sitting on the bench and not playing volleyball.
The player has since become an internet sensation for her movie-star looks and has got more than 200,000 followers on Instagram.
