Major non-governmental organizations have sent an appeal to Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev requesting him to veto the Criminal Code, Criminal Executive Code, and the Code of Administrative Offenses of Kazakhstan recently adopted by the Parliament, ca-news.org reports.
The human rights activists believe the new Criminal Code contains provisions that do not conform with the principles of international law and contradict to the constitution. The appeal was signed by 18 non-governmental organizations on human rights.
