Centenarian fell from balcony in Atyrau

Today, March 28, around 2:30pm, an old woman fell from the 4th floor balcony of the house #56A on Auezov Street. The fall was fatal.

Police is working to establish whether it was suicide or an accident. Any news about death are always shocking, but to our surprise we learnt that the woman who died was 100- y.o. Anfisa Zarshchikova, the heroine of our recent publication. On the eve of March 8 the heads of local government congratulated her on the occasion of her anniversary (see “Two women - two hundred years”).

Anfisa Isakovna survived famine, war, post-war devastation, and in her 100s she was in sound mind and memory. Surrounded with love and care of her family, she didn't complain about her health, but during the anniversary celebration when she was wished many more years of life, she was saying that she was tired of life.
