KazMorTransFlot to buy up to nine suezmax crude tankers

KazMorTransFlot, national shipowner and crude tanker-owning company controlled by Kazakhstan, will buy up to nine secondhand suezmax crude tankers in the next three to four years to ship greater volumes of the country’s oil to European refineries, Lloyd’s List informs.

Currently the fleet of the company consists of 6 tankers (12-13 tons) and 13 other navy units for supporting maritime operations (5 tug and 8 barges), used for transporting rocks for backfilling activities on the islands in Kazakhstan sector of the Caspian Sea.

Tankers "Astana", "Almaty", "TC Aktau", "Atyrau", "Aktobe" and "Oral" are designed for transportation of Kazakhstan crude oil to international markets.
