A cornerstone laying ceremony of the new Kazakhstani-Russian automobile plant has taken place in Ust-Kamenogorsk yesterday.
First Vice-Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan Albert Rau, First Vice Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Gleb Nikitin, governor of East Kazakhstan region Berdybek Saparbayev, acting president of AVTOVAZ Oleg Lobanov, CEO of BIPEC AVTO Holding Anatoly Balushkin, general director of AZIA AVTO Kazakhstan Erzhan Mandiyev and many others took part in the ceremony.
An array of bilateral agreements on cooperation in the sphere of automobile parts production was signed during the ceremony. The construction is set to end in 2017.
Albert Rau congratulated the participants on the grandiose event in the industrial cooperation of the two countries that will provide jobs to 12 thousand Kazakhstanis. Vice Minister Gleb Nikitin stressed AVTOVAZ can be proud of such partner as Kazakhstan.
Both sides noted that that is one of the largest integration projects of Kazakhstan and Russia over the last couple of years. It is quite symbolic it was launched on the day of opening of the 10th forum of interregional cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia in Yekaterinburg.
