The wife and daughter of Mukhtar Ablyazov, the ex-head of BTA Bank, have been deported to Kazakhstan after being arrested in Rome, writes TengriNews citing Kazinform.
Reportedly, the spouse of the now wanted ex-banker – Alma Shalabayeva, 47, and their underage daughter Alua were deported to Kazakhstan on the allegation that they had been illegally present in Italy holding fake passports of the Central African Republic.
To recall, in October 2012, the court had sanctioned the arrest of two officials suspected in issuing fake IDs to Ablyazov’s family.
A marketing specialist of Ellis Region LLP Assylbek Saifullin and the inspector of Atyrau Oblast migration police Zhomart Kushaliyev were arrested.
Particularly, according to investigators, fake documents were produced for Mukhtar Ablyazov’s children – Madiyar, Aldiyar and Alua, as well as Syrym Shalabayev [Ablyazov’s brother-in-law] and his family – Zhanna Shalabayeva, Aigul Shalabayeva, Salima Shalabayeva and Alma Shalabayeva.
In late May 2013, seven people stood before trial for issuing left-handed passports to Ablyazov’s relatives.
