Kazakhstan Olympic team is ranked 12th by medal count at London Olympics-2012, Vesti.kz reports.
The sportsmen won 13 medals, including seven gold ones. Gold medals were won by cyclist Aleksandre Vinokourov, weightlifters Zulfiya Chinshanlo, Maiya Maneza, Svetlana Podobedova and Ilya Ilyin, athlete Olga Rypakova and boxer Serik Sapiyev. Boxer Adilbek Niyazimbetov won silver. Bronze medals were won by Greco-Roman wrestler Daniyal Gajiyev, boxer Marina Volnova, wrestler Gyuzel Manyurova, boxer Ivan Dychko and freestyle wrestler Akzhurek Tanatarov.
London Olympics-2012 became the best Olympics in the history of Kazakhstan. Before that Kazakhstan athletes managed to win a maximum of three gold medals: in 1996 and 2000. Kazakhstan sportsmen also won 13 medals at Beijing-2008. Besides, this is the first time Kazakhstan is among top 20 Olympic winners.
The Olympic rating is led by the U.S. with 104 medals (46 gold, 29 silver and 29 bronze). The second place is held by China with 87 medals (38, 27, 22). It is followed by Great Britain with 65 medals (29, 17, 29) and Russia with 82 medals (24, 25, 33).
